Girls Day Out

The American womens Association International Bizarre

Monday we had a fun girls day out. Every month they have a Bizarre but it is only on Tuesday which we all work. This month they had it on Monday and we have all been waiting for this day. We even turned down a huge free lunch buffet at a fancy Hotel to be able to go to the bizarre. Needless to say none of our husbands felt the same enthusiasm as we did and stayed home. Sister Taylor ( the MTC presidents wife), Sister Boehme (the medical Dr.s wife) and Sister Sorensen (wife of the Area Presidents secretary) went with us too they are modeling scarfs they bought.

Sis Call, Sis. Lee, Sis Holm happy to be shopping!

Waiting for our ride home all tired and with lots of loot.

My favorite find is a quilt wall hanging that perfectly describes the true Filipino experience. I love it! The quilter caters to American missionaries obviously with the temple in the center.
Just to make it a long and fun day some of us went to the David Archuleta concert that night. Again not one the men wanted to attend. Pres. Wong graciously took all of us because his wife is one of his biggest fans. This is us at the Areneta center before we climbed the staircase to our top of the arena seats. Oh well they were cheap and we could hear just fine.President and Sister Wong, Sis Lee, Sis Call, Sis Holm.

Brother and Sister Lindsay came too Sis Lindsay will not go anywhere without her husband.

All of us waiting for the show to begin.

Finally David put on a great performance with many screaming teenage girls. He put on a good show and was really sweet and humble. His gray t-shirt was soaking wet by the end as he skipped and moved all over the stage.
Guess who appeared at the temple the next day. David Archuleta. There was more security than a general authority has. I was working the afternoon shift and missed all of the fun but got some of the pictures. He did baptisms and only the Temple Presidency was allowed in the baptistery while he was there.Everyone said he was very sweet and humble, rare in the entertainment business. He carried with him a very worn out set of scriptures. It is nice to see a celebrity with morals.

Sister Holm was the only American working the morning shift. Her reward for having to get up at 4am after we didn't get home from the concert until 11pm.Sister Wong his biggest fan.
