Our trip to Bohol

Our first stop in Bohol was to a small underground cave. I think it was more of a souvenir stop because the cave was really small.

Next stop was to a bee farm. We ate lunch there. I had my best meal of the trip. Fresh Marlin. It was really good. It was raining too hard to tour the farm.

This was a barber shop next to the bee farm.It is inside a bamboo hut.

Next stop was a shell museum. There were some interesting shells but the Museum was really small.

Finally arrival at our resort. It was really nice. Ahhh finally a king sized bed again.

Filipino rice market

The stairway up to the top of one of the 1776  chocolate hills. The view was spectacular. The hills were made from coral deposits when the island was under the sea. Quite an interesting land formation. 214 stairs to the top.

They were named the chocolate hills because in the dry season they are all brown.

A Tarsier the worlds smallest primate. They are endangered and live in a sanctuary. They are the worlds smallest primate.

A scary suspension bridge. It sounded like the bamboo was breaking with every step.

We made it.

This was the first time we had ever seen red bananas. Of course we had to try them. They were really sweet.

They let you have your picture taken with the snakes , of course for a tip.

It was pretty slimy feeling.

Getting ready for our island hopping trip. The boat was handmade and scary but they were everywhere and I supposed they knew what they were doing building it. One of the missionaries dropped her camera in the ocean and our boatman dove in after it and found it. The sim card still worked but the camera was a loss.

The Virgin island. It was beautiful and full of pearl dealers. They followed you all over the island.

We spent a lot of time relaxing inf front of our resort people watching on the beach. The weather could not have been better.

A sand sculpture. The young man who did it had a lot of trouble with the tide, children and dogs but he got it done.

We had a wonderful trip to Bohol. We did a lot of sightseeing but also had a lot of time to relax on the beach. It was a much needed break.
