Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving. I'm grateful for our big Missionary family

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving even if it was on Monday. All of the American Missionary couples cooked traditional Thanksgiving food. We had 3 turkeys, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, fruit salad, home made rolls and pies. It was all delicious and we had way more food than we could eat.We have many things to be thankful for.

We ate dinner in the temple annex. It was the only place big enough for all of us. Our table was paper plate china, but with the cloth napkins it was beautiful and fallish.

A couple of the clever sister missionaries made these turkey truffles for everyone.You have to use what you can get. No candy corn here.

Elder and Sister Call with the new temple President and Matron. President and Sister Cuyung. She is really talkative and out going and he never says a word. They have good ideas about how to help make this temple better and we are all trying to be patient and hope it all works. One of the changes being made is they made all of the missionary couples shift coordinators. We officially start Dec. 6th, however when the Filipinos found out we would be taking over they stopped doing the job even though the change is not until Dec.It will be an interesting transition.

Enjoying dinner with all.After dinner we watched the 17 Miracles. It was really good and was the story in part about Eldon's Great Grandfather who was part of the rescue group for the Willey and Martin Handcart Co.He ended up marrying one sister from each Co.

I was amazed at how much food these little tiny Filipino's could eat.They ate 3 times as much as the Americans did.We were able to feed the engineers, grounds crew and laundry.

Thanksgiving is over time to put up the tree. Thanks to our house help who provided us with a tree , lights and decorations. I had bought a cheap tiny one and then she brought us a bigger one. I'm trying really hard to feel the spirit but it is hard when it is still so warm. They have been putting the lights up on the temple grounds for almost a month maybe it will help  when  they are all lit up.

My tiny tree! Let the season begin. We have many things  to be thankful for but none more important than the birth of  our Savior. It is a privilege to work ion his house everyday. We are blessed so abundantly that I will always be indebted to him.
